The Edwardstone White Horse Inn, Mill Green, Edwardstone, Sudbury, Suffolk CO10 5PX
The Edwardstone White Horse was a pub that had a lot to offer – great real ale (brewed on site), great food, their Eddyfest beer/music festival, other beer festivals, a campsite, and two pine glamping cottages. We’ve been regular visitors there, and have sampled the lot (except the campsite!). But in 2015 the Norton family who had turned around the pub (and the nearby Boxford Fleece), and set up The Mill Green Brewery, started being more hands off with the pubs, and the Mill Green Brewery had a change of focus and stopped brewing ‘mainstream’ brews, which led to a frisson of concern.
July 2016 saw us pop back to the White Horse, for their regular Tuesday burger+pint combo deal, which is still carrying on. No Mill Green brews of course, but seven real ales from the tap and from the cask, including Oscar Wilde Mild, which was on great form. Burgers and chips excellent as ever, so as far as the beer and the burgers are concerned, still a great destination.
